Their voices rang in her ears as she passed by the children in the hallways. All eyes were on her, and it was not paranoia placed on the base of her mind, everyone was literally staring at her. The voice in the back of her mind said ignore them, they don't get it. Her heart told her to run, find a safe place in the janitor's room she came to love so much, and imagine it didn't matter. She created this little brain cell that told her to always go with what her mind told her. She looked around as the little bump she began to feel in her throat swelled up until it felt like she just swallowed wool. The truth was hard to swallow; she had to abandon all that she knew, to be with him and him only. It was her only option; she was bound to him, forever and all of each and every eternity. Was she ready to leave behind her best friend, the crybaby, the kiddy king, and the soccer freako? Maybe not, but they too, made complete fun of them.
----
A laugh emitted from the left side of him, no it was behind him, wait it HAD to be to the left of him. His heart floated its way into his throat. He couldn't breathe, why was everything a big smudge of colors? He didn't care any more; he was going to make a choice. If she wanted to, they would go away, just leave behind all of this. They would create a past they would never look back on, and never return to. He was at the point where he wanted his best friend to just go away, it became that bad. Whispering, and fingers pointing, and close stares, they all made their way to him. He chose to ignore all of what people said. That had changed. He didn't know how she felt, until several days prior to this event, when she had cried to him for hours. Now that he knew, he couldn't ignore them, not anymore.
----
She barged through his bedroom door and hugged him, burying her face in the crook of his neck. Tears streamed down her cheeks. That was it for him; he would never let her shed another tear again.
"They don't understand us…" She choked out in between hiccups.
"I know…I know... Let's just- just run away. We can go anywhere, just not here." He said hugging her tighter. She just nodded, until she drifted into a sleep.
----
She finished stuffing her clothes into a backpack. 'Im sorry mother, father' she thought before climbing out her window. She ran and jumped over numerous fences. This was it, the making fun, it was all over. They would never remain in those days. She spotted him waiting for her on a bench, and walked over to him. They began to walk to a taxi, hand in hand. It was the first time she had followed her heart.
"I love you Rima"
"I love you Nagihiko"
