The Artist and the Twins

Chapter 2
The Past and Present

It all started when I was little. I loved to draw. I wasn't the best artist, but my parents were proud of my drawings and put them all on the fridge. I drew Dora the explorer, Barney, Hamtaro, and any other character I liked back then. Then, one day, while I was drawing Bugs bunny, My mom came home from work. She gave me two new stuffed toys from the store, and told me to take good care of them. I looked at my new dolls. They were twins, and they both had blonde hair. One was a girl. It had a bow on its head and had a little black dress with white lace trim and red fabric detail. The other was a boy. He had a tiny ponytail, a black suit with red fabric detail. I loved them both.

"Thank you mom." I said as I hugged her.

"You're welcome." she smiled.

I named the girl doll Rin, and the boy doll Len. And I brought them almost everywhere with me, and did almost everything with tme. I played board games with them, video games, and we went to the county fair together. I also drew lots of pictures of them. I was sad back then before I had Rin and Len, because I never had any friends. All the kids at school make fun of me because I'm autistic and I act different. I thought those kids were assholes back then and I still think they are. But when Rin and Len came along, I felt like I made two very special friends. Friends that won't make fun of me, or judge me, or hurt me in any way.

I loved them with all my heart. But then, when I graduated and moved onto middle school. Something happened. I started to make real friends. I began to hang out with my real friends more than Rin and Len. All the things I used to do with Rin and Len, I now do with my real friends.

About a year later, my mom wanted me to do some cleaning up and donate some old toys. I took all of my old toys and put them in a cardboard box. I looked in the box and saw Rin and Len. Memories of them came rushing back to me. I felt a little sad to be donating them, but I don't play with them anymore so I closed the box, got a permanent marker, and wrote "Donate to Sunnyside Daycare" on it. I put the box in the trunk of my mom's car, and closed it. My mom then got in the car and drove away to the daycare. I hoped the people at the daycare would take good care of them.

And that was the last time I saw Rin and Len. I completely forgotten about them. The next five years, I hung out with my real friends. We went to see movies like Avatar, Legend of the Gaurdians, and Up. We played board games and video games together. We also went to the county fair. I felt like I was living the golden age. But my real golden age was being raised by the TV, but that's not important. I had the time of my life with real friends.

Then on a Halloween, I went to a party. I didn't find a costume in time for the holiday so I just dressed up in a green shirt, blue vest, gray pants, purple shoes, and my favorite hamtaro hat. I walked up to my friend's house and knocked on the door. My friend Kiana, answered it. She was dressed as an angel for Halloween.

"Where's your costume?" she asked. "You know what's gonna happen if u forgot to dress up right?"

I laughed.

"Yeah I know. I get the punishment game like in Higurashi. So what is it this time?" I asked.

"You have to drink orange juice.."

"That's not so bad."

"...Mixed with pickle juice and grape soda."

"Oh that's bad..."

"Hey, i's not my fault u didn't dress up. Come on in."

I walked inside and my other friends Jeremiah and Tom were dressed up too. Jeremiah was dressed up as a wizerd and Tom was dressed up as Megaman.

"Where's your costume?" Tom asked.

"Didn't get one in time," I answered. Jeremiah smiled and gave me a cup of God know's what. I figured it was the pickle grape orange soda juice.

"Oh dear God..." I said to myself. I held my nose and drank all of the juice. It was absolutely terrible, It almost tasted like it was poison. I almost threw up.

"Oh God that's disgusting!" I said. They all laughed. But then apologized for making me drink it. I hugged my friends and had forgiven them. Then we watched movies like, Nightmare Before Christmas, The nightmare on elm street series, and Friday the 13th. We ate candy and cookies and had a dance party too. Though I didn't dance much, I'm not much of a dancer. I even drew a couple of halloween anime pictures for my friends.

Then soon, the party was over. I waved goodbye to Jeremiah, Tom, and Kiana. I walked out the front door and began my walk home. I decided to take a shortcut though the park. So I went toward the park. I looked up at the sky. The stars looked beautiful. I wished that all the street lights were off so I could see them more clearly. I continued to walk to the park, until something caught my eye. I looked and saw a small building. It was colorful and had a little playground beside it. There was a sign in front of the building. It said "Sunnyside Daycare". There was something familiar about that name. I couldn't put my finger on it. I tried to remember, but I failed. I figured I would remember later, and continued walking to the park. But as I walked, I began hearing footsteps. I knew they weren't mine. I quickly grabbed the taser out of my super bra. A super bra is a weapon carrying device for women who are in need self defence. I'm always nervous when I walk home alone but, when I got that epic weapon carrying bra, I didn't need to be. I quickly turned around

"Who's there?" I said. " I got a taser! Come any closer and I'll zap your sorry ass!"

There was no response. I put the taser back in my super bra and continued my walk home. After I walked about five steps, I began to hear footsteps again. I took the taser out and turned around again.

"I mean it! Come any closer and I'll zap your ass off!" I yelled. The footsteps stopped and then continued. I began to feel worried. I started walk faster. The sound of the strange footsteps did the same. I started to feel scared. I began to run. The strange footsteps got even faster too. I continued to run as fast as I could. But then I tripped on a hole in the sidewalk. I fell hard. I hurt all over, but nothing was broken. The footsteps became louder and louder. I quickly got out my taser.
