Chapter 9
Len and Rin's Recovery

Rin's POV

Its been a while since we escaped from Teto and Ted. The police said they had found Mikuo Hatsune's body and Kaiko Shion's torn apart body. However, they couldn't find any trace of Teto and Ted. The only weird thing about that was that they no blood when they looked. They found no blood on Mikuo and Kaiko either. I thought that both of them were covered in blood when they died.

Len's been keeping himself busy by reading lots of books about Vocaloids. He figured that the only reason why the police didn't find blood was that Teto and Ted were both Vocaloids and that their bodies had been melted down by the explosion.

I didn't think much of it and really didn't care that much. As long as they weren't coming back to try and kill everyone again, I was alright. I haven't really seen Kaito, Miku, Luka, or even Akita since that accident. Len and I haven't really been attending school. Although its been a while, we're still kinda shook up. Especially Len. He hasn't really talked since it happened. I however, all I have been wanting to do is talk.

I need someway to keep from having a total meltdown. I'm pretty sure Len is already pretty close to having one.

"Len" I called from across the room softly. "D-Do you think that we'll have to go to school soon?"

Len shook his head and closed his book over a bookmark. "But if we do, a second version of them could be lurking somewhere in the shadows"

I hung my head. "Eventually, we'll fail Len"

Len was silent for a while.

"We'll go to school tomorrow" he said, and then he said nothing else for the rest of the day.

The next day, Len and I stalked up the stairs to Kaito-sensei's room. Its going to take forever to get used to doing this again considering that we haven't been to school in weeks. We were surprised to see Kaito-sensei at his desk when we walked in.

Kaito-sensei immediately looked at us with a sad look when we walked in. We both just smiled sadly at him and took our seat. I looked around. Akita and Miku were both absent. Luka's books were at her desk but she wasn't in it. Maybe a bathroom break or something.

I looked at Len and was dismayed to see that he was reading another Vocaloid book. This time it was somewhat of a manual that was based on Vocaloids that could repair themselves after being broken.

I wondered if Len was thinking that the Kasanes could do that.

"Maybe this was a bad idea, Len" I said, smiling sadly. "Maybe I should have listened to you"

Len just put the book down and smiled at me. "Its okay. I knew school would just make us a little sadder but its okay. We can probably make it through"

I just smiled. Len could be so nice.

"Ohhhh, I need to talk to Miku or Luka" I exclaimed, throwing my school bag down on the couch and reaching for my cell phone. "I need to talk to someone else about this. They would know what to do"

Miku's phone however was busy and Luka's just kept ringing until it went to voicemail. I left a message on both and wondered where they were. Then, I logged onto my messenger to see if they were on there.

Miku's status was set to 'Away' and her message to everyone was 'Going to do something I should have done a month ago". A month ago was when we had finally escaped from Teto and Ted. What was she doing?

Luka's status was set to 'Busy' and her message to everyone was 'Miku's doing something stupid. I know she is...'. So even Luka wondered what Miku was doing too? I was really suspicious now and wondered what she was doing.

That night, I left the light on in my room. Len and I had been doing that for a while because we were still pretty scared from a month ago. We also sometimes left the TV on when we slept to keep our mind off of having nightmares about that day.

I was checking the new messages in my phone when I came upon one that was really weird and strange. Ever since I got Len as a Vocaloid, the company that created them always sent me messages on new models. However, it had been a while since I got a message from them.

I opened it and almost cried out when I read it.

'VOCALOID MODEL: MIKUO HATSUNE UNIT # 1 has been released. For more information, click More"

I clicked 'More' while I stared at the screen. Was this what Miku was doing? Begging the company to make a MIKUO unit so that she could see her brother again? I wondered if Kaiko had also been turned into a Vocaloid.

As another message was received into my phone by the same company, I dreaded opening it.

'VOCALOID MODEL: KAIKO SHION UNIT # 1 has been released.'

Nooo, then that means...I opened the last message with lots of regret.

'VOCALOID MODELS: TED AND TETO KASANE UNIT # 1 has been released.'

And here come the tears.
