Chapter 4
Bones I'd Broken
Three hours.
Three more hours until Kagamine Len's blood would be cascading down my arms. I could hardly wait as I imagined his screams in my mind. I hope he screamed exactly like the Hatsunes. They were the most beautiful.
"You bastard physco!" I heard a familiar voice say.
I turned to look at the tied up turquoise haired boy as he sneered at me. I'd only kept him around because I'm trying to grant him the final wish of finally being able to go to high school and be around his precious little sister that he loved ever so much.
Come to think of it, I don't remember his name.
"What was your name again, kid?" I asked as I swung my axe over my shoulder.
"Hatsune" he said, glaring at me. "Hatsune Mikuo"
Neru's POV
It was kind of quiet without the Kasanes bothering me.
Teto had said she was going to go look around town for something to do and I haven't seen Ted for a while. He was cooped up in his room for a while and then he said he had to go 'out'.
Strange. Ted never went 'out'. Especially not on a school night.
Maybe he just went to go and see somebody. Whatever.
I picked up my cell phone and started texting.
Len's POV
The next day at school, I was very worked up. I had stayed up all night because of the text messages that I had received the previous night. They still creeped me out.
It was now lunch time and I was still kind of shaky but I realized that the killer was smart enough not to kill me at school. I was around too many people and it would start up a riot. Plus, People would be very shocked to realize that I didn't bleed because I was a Vocaloid and that it would be very hard to kill me due to my intense circuitry.
I was really the most worried about Rin.
If someone was going to kill me then I had to at least protect Rin before my time came. Rin was important to me. We were best friends and almost like real family. So I had to protect my 'sister'.
"Len, are you alright?" Rin asked me as she stuffed a dumpling in her mouth.
Beside her, Miku-san, Luka-san and Teto-chan were also doing the same. Kasane Teto-chan had befriended all of us. I did wonder where her brother and Neru-chan was today. Although, I wouldn't mind not seeing Kasane Ted for a full school day. I hope he stayed away from the school this whole entire week then maybe I could have a happy death.
"Yes, I'm alright" I said, looking at my own food.
"Why aren't you eating?" Rin asked, her plate half gone.
"I-I'm just not hungry" I said.
Everyone stopped eating as I picked up my still full plate of dumplings and walked over to the trashcan. I threw it away and walked to the entrance of the cafeteria and walked into the hallway.
My cellphone vibrated and I took it out.
To: Kagamine Len
From: Unknown and or Blocked Number
Meet me at Central Park at 7 p.m. Bring no one or I'll attack your precious Rinny-chan. She's really cute. :)
To: Unknown and or Blocked Number
From: Kagamine Len
I'll be there. Just don't go after Rin.
I leaned against the wall and held my cell phone to my chest until I felt myself hit the floor. I hope I knew what I was doing. I remembered that it was all to protect Rin.
To protect Rin...
Rin's POV
I was extremely worried about Len after he just walked right out of the cafeteria. Why was he being so distant? Something must have happened last night to make him do this.
So, I decided to follow him out into the hallway where I heard him muttering to himself.
"Central Park" he muttered. "7 o' clock"
Central Park? 7 o' clock? Was he going there tonight? If he was going there then I'll follow him to see what he's up to. Maybe he's going to some crazy party that I wasn't invited to. I mean, Len kind of got popular after just a few days at school. He had other friends and Neru already had a crush on him.
I was tempted to walk up to him but instead I just stuck my head back inside of the door.
Len, what's wrong with you?
Mikuo's POV (Yay!)
I wasn't sure how long I have been kept up in here. Has it been hours? Days? Months? Years? I didn't really know but it felt like an eternity being kept in the darkness.
I wasn't the only one in here however.
Also, there was a girl named Shion Kaiko. She never talked and I figured that she was extremely shy. The first time she ever talked to me was when we were talking about our families.
She had told me about her older brothers while one specific one, Shion Kaito, was a teacher at a school. The same school that Miku was at. The exact same one.
Kaiko had told me that she had been captured about 3 months ago. Evidently, she used to count the days until the murderer let her go back to her house.
Then, one day, he had also captured me.
My occupation was a professional singer. That's why I never got to see my sister as much because I was always on tour or something. I had one day decided that I wanted to meet my fans.
It was the biggest mistake of my life.
The last fan that I had let meet me was the murderer himself. He said he was from a far far away and had always wanted to meet me. I had brought him around the whole entire building without bodyguards because that was what I did with every fan. My biggest mistake. Immediately after we couldn't see the bodyguards anymore, he had put me to sleep and when I woke up, I was trapped up in here in the darkness with my whole body tied to a pole.
Of course, he gave Kaiko and I food to eat every day. He untied us and gave us food. If we tried to run away, he would either shoot us with his gun or hack our heads off with his axe.
He scared Kaiko to bits. I wasn't scared of him though.
The first day of my capture, he had asked me what my death wish was. I told him that I wanted to go to school with my little sister before I died. I wanted to see her once more before the end came. She was of utmost importance to protect ever since our parents were killed by this same murderer. It was kinda obvious that this guy was our parents' murderer too. He posted every newspaper article about the killing all around the area. When light poured into the room, you could see it clearly.
The door opened. Startled out of my thoughts, I looked into the face of the killer and scowled.
He walked past me and Kaiko and straight up to his "tools"
"Killing somone tonight?" I growled out. I hoped this guy burned in hell. "You do have a knack for that"
"Your right, Hatsune" he said. "I'm killing a student from the high school"
My entire mind went blank. I prayed up to God that it was NOT Miku. Oh God, please don't let it be her. PLEASE don't let it be her. She's too young to die.
"Don't worry, Hatsune. It isn't you sister" he said. "It also isn't your brother, Shion"
I felt relief and I seen Kaiko do the same as me and sigh in relief.
"When I come back, I'm killing you" he said, pointing to Kaiko.
Kaiko gasped and started crying at the thought of losing her life so soon. No, that wasn't fair. He can't kill Kaiko. She's been like a best friend to me this whole entire time! No!
He picked up his axe and walked out.
I looked at Kaiko and she looked at me.
"I'll get you out of here" I whispered to her. She just nodded.
I'll keep my promise.
Don't worry Kaiko.
I'll protect you. And Miku.
Len's POV
I sat on a bench at Central Park and waited for the murderer to come. I held my cell phone to my chest as I waited and tried to settle my ragid breathes. I was seriously scared of what was to come.
I clutched my cell phone harder as I seen a figure approach me.
He was walking closer and closer to me. Then, I realized who he was. I would know him anywhere. He was the person I hated after all and wished he would leave forever.
"K-Kasane Ted" I muttered, breathless.
"Correct, Kagamine Len" Ted said, before swinging the axe at me.
I ducked and stared at him. Ted was the killer?
