Chapter 1
The Vocaloid

Rin Kagamine POV

The first time I had met my "brother" Len, he was wrapped up in a box as my Christmas present. A vocaloid. I wasn't sure if that was what I WANTED but I accepted it anyway. I mean, those vocaloids cost millions of dollars didn't they? My parents were filthy rich though so it would be nothing for them.

He looked EXACTLY like me. He had a signature uniform that looked like mine. His hair was the same color. We were the same. The only difference was that he was a robot and I was human. We also couldn't have more different personalities.

I wasn't that popular at school until Len joined me there under the impression of being my "twin brother". My parents figured it was easy to lie to the whole student body but I was anxious the whole time. Len became instantly popular after he walked through the double doors. Akita Neru already had a long-lasting crush on him.

I just wondered if Len was happy with things this way...

"Len!" I said, furiously. "Wake up NOW!"

I pushed him off of the bed in his room and he woke up instantly. He stared up at me with anger and I just rolled my eyes. It was HIS fault that we were late for the first day of school.

"What was that for, Rin?" Len shouted at me.

I smirked. "Its time for school, idiot"

Len widened his eyes and stared at me. I already had my signature outfit on and I was ready for this year. I had packed everything and all I needed to do was wait until he was ready.

Len groaned. "Why so early in the morning?"

I looked at the clock the same time Len did. It was currently 6:45. That meant that we only had about fifteen minutes left to get to school. That's just wonderful.

"We only have fifteen minutes" I said, surprising myself at how calm I was. "I'm going by myself"

I then preceded to walk out of the room and down the stairs while I heard Len shuffling around to get ready. I smiled a little. He was always so cute when he was angry.

"Rin-chan?" Miku said with her head to the side, cutely. "You have a sibling?"

I nodded. We had just barely gotten here but I don't think my best friend, Miku Hatsune, even noticed us running as fast as we could to the school. I swear I could see stars.

"This is Len" I said.

Miku examined him, up and down. This gesture made Len blush a deep red. I smirked ta that. Evidently, he liked Miku. I don't know why but that made me hurt a little.

"Don't you have any siblings, Miku-san?" Len asked.

Miku nodded. "I have a brother. His name's Mikuo but I never see him"

Miku's expression sunk a little bit and I looked at Len with a look that meant to just drop everything. The silence must have cheered her up because in the next moment, she was ready for class.

"I hear our homeroom teacher name is Kaito Shion" Miku said, cheerfully.

I blushed at the name. He had been my homeroom teacher last year and I had a major crush on him. Len noticed my blush and frowned. I spent the rest of our walk to the classroom wondering why.

"Here we are" Miku said as she opened the door.

A flash of blonde showed up next to me and I knew exactly who it was. My number one enemy, Akita Neru. I totally hate her. She is the main person that always teases me.

"I ddidn't know you had a brother" she said sweetly, batting her eyelashes at Len.

Len just stared back at her and then smiled. "Hello" he greeted.

"Hello" Neru said. "My name is Akita Neru"

Len smiled again. "I'm Len Kagamine. Nice to meet you, Neru-chan!"

I could I have swore I could see the hearts in her eyes. Len, why did you have to be so unbelievably cute? Every single girl at this school is going to totally fall in love with you. Wait, why do I even care?

"So CUTE!" Neru exclaimed. "Len-kun!"

She pounced on him and he feel back with her falling on top of him. Both of them immediately started blushing and I felt the need to tear both of them apart. I think that Miku noticed but before I looked at her, she turned to our homeroom teacher.

"S-sorry" Neru said, with a smile.

An evil smile, in my book.

"Don't you have something better to do?" I asked.

"Stop being so mean, Rin" Len said.

"Yeah" Neru said, crossing her arms. "Stop being so mean, Rin"

I wanted to punch her. So I did. Lets just say that I didn't spend TOO much time in detention.

Subject: A little harsh on Akita?

Don't you think that you went a little harsh on Akita by punching her like that? Although I would have done the same thing...don't you still think it was a tiny bit, over the edge?

Subject: HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?

How would you feel if Akita Neru hit on YOUR brother? She just makes me SO ANGRY! Haven't you ever wanted to punch someone so bad and just couldn't hold it in?

Subject: I wanna be you...

I wish I was you. You get to actually see your brother. I never get to see Mikuo at all and every time I DO get to see him, he always never has time and I only get to see him for about a day. A DAY! Oh well...I...I have to go now, Rinny-chan. I'm depressed.

When I saw Miku the next day, she was happy and cheerful again. She acted as if our email conversation last night had never even happened. If I was her, I would still be sad.

She hasn't seen her brother in so long.

That's pretty sad.

I couldn't imagine my life without Len in it although he is a vocaloid and not my actual brother. It would be too sad to not have him there every day.

Miku stopped walking beside me suddenly.

I stopped too. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Isn't that Len-kun with Akita?" Miku asked.

I looked. Neru's second punch is coming soon.
