Chapter 7
Another Death
Neru's POV
I ran as fast as I could until I couldn't see the abandoned garage anymore. That was the only time when I stopped to catch my breath. I sweared to myself that I wasn't going back there.
Why was there blood everywhere? Was the mysterious boy and girl who were dead related to Miku and Kaito? Why was the Kagamines there? And the most important question: Why were Ted and Teto there laughing and evidently trying to kill everyone? All of these questions were a mystery to me as I stood staring at where I was.
I looked down at my feet as tears threatened to fall from my eyes. The Kasanes were like little siblings to me and now they did something so horrible that I am never going to get out of my mind. What do I do now? What do I do now?
I could feel a hand on my back and I jumped, scared that it was Ted or Teto coming to kill me next. I slowly turned around to see a pinkette that I never expected to see.
"Megurine Luka?" I asked as I stared at her.
"Huh?" Luka asked. "Akita Neru?"
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
And then it dawned upon me.
"Did you follow me here?" I asked, angry at the pinkette.
"Actually" Luka said. "I and Miku followed you here"
"Hatsune's here too?" I screamed, looking behind the pinkette.
There she was. Green-haired Hatsune stood there behind Luka looking down at her feet. Why did she look so sad though, I wondered? Maybe she had seen that boy inside of the garage who was half dead already. Maybe he really was related to her. Her brother or something. Maybe a very close cousin...
"Did you see that garage?" I blurted out before thinking. Luka raised an eyebrow.
"What garage?" Luka asked. "Do you mean the giant one that we passed by?"
I nodded. "Did you look into it?"
Luka shook her head. "Why?"
"Um, maybe you should see for yourself" I said. "Its really awful. How did you even get here?"
"Kaito-sensei drove us" Luka said.
I looked once again behind Luka to see Kaito-sensei happily eating an ice cream cone next to his car. They had bribed the poor guy with ice cream. I wonder why they wanted to follow me so bad though.
"How about you show us that garage?" Luka asked when Kaito-sensei joined us.
I just walked away and listened to their footsteps behind me.
They were in for a shock.
Mikuo's POV
I could sense that I was about to die. Especially since I was losing blood and energy very fast. I expected for the Kasanes to just leave me there to die but evidently that wasn't their plan.
Ted picked me up with Teto's help and brought me over to a unknown room that I had yet to see. I opened my eyes slowly to see Len tied up in a corner, a girl that looked like Len that suspected was Rin, Len's sister. I adverted my eyes when I seen Kaiko's mangled and cut up body. I couldn't even recognize her anymore. She was too beat up to try to recognize.
Teto lifted my arms up to what I suspected was a cross with both of my feet dangling down the rest of it. Ted tied my feet together and my hands to each side of it. I just watched. I was going to die eventually anyway so whatever torture method they were going to use was going to be fine with me.
Teto gave Ted's axe to him and then she found a sharp knife of her own. Then both sets of twins, the Kasanes and the Kagamines, looked up at me and Ted and Teto started the torture.
Miku's POV
I couldn't help but feel bad as we entered the garage. I was still feeling awful over seeing my mom's journal and now we had to go into this place where shock was sure to happen.
I looked down. I felt like it was one of those movies where everyone chants, "Don't go in! Don't go in!" and then the person goes in and they eventually die or a person close to them dies.
I looked around the garage as we walked in and gasped. Blood was everywhere. A girl was dead on the floor but you could hardly identify her. She had so many wounds on her and blood seeped out of a head wound the most. Her arms and legs had been disconnected from her body and her eyes were open while dried up tears were gathered at her eyes. Blood was even spilling out of her mouth. It was the color of midnight black which indicated that her blood had dried up and had come out of her mouth.
"Kaiko" Kaito-sensei whispered, tears gathering at his eyes. "KAIKO!" he screamed.
Kaito-sensei ran over to the girl that was apparently Kaiko and dropped to his knees next to her. He put his hands to his face and screamed very loudly while crying.
I knew how he felt. Even if Mikuo wasn't dead and he was currently on a tour, I still knew how he felt to lose the person most important to you. "Its going to be okay" I said, putting a hand on Kaito-sensei's shoulder.
Kaito-sensei didn't rise up. In fact, that sentence made him cry even harder and he curled up into a ball and cried. I could tell that no amount of comfort was going to stop him from mourning for his sweet sister.
Neru meanwhile was walking towards a door in the back of the garage that I had never noticed. She slowly pushed opened the door and Luka and I gathered around her to walk inside also.
What I seen shocked me behind belief. And suddenly I knew EXACTLY how Kaito-sensei felt.
"Mikuo" I muttered, tears gathering in my eyes. "Why?"
Mikuo's POV
Didn't they say you started seeing your life flashing before your eyes when your on the verge of death? Well, what about hallucinating? I could swear I could see Miku standing there surrounded by a pinkette and a girl with yellow hair. Both were staring at me and Ted and Teto stopped the torture and turned to look at them.
Ted smirked and held the knife to my neck.
"Don't kill him!" Miku shouted. "Please!"
Ted drew a little blood from my neck and I just stared at Miku with heavy eyes wondering when it was all going to be over. If only I was dead already and then it would truly be over.
Ted pretended to consider Miku's request. "Hmmmm. I'll spare his life if you give me yours instead"
Before Miku could reply, I screamed. "Noooooo!"
"Don't give him your life for mine, Miku!" I screamed out.
"What am I going to do then, Mikuo?" Miku asked, dropping to her knees.
"Sing for me one more time, Miku" I said, smiling. "You have a beautiful voice and I want to hear it one last time"
"But-" she tried.
"No, Miku" I said. "Sing."
I leaned my head back as Miku started to sing. Ted and Teto lifted up their weapons, nodded to each other, and then began again as I listened to Miku's soft sobs between every few words.
"At a small harbour straying from a town
Alone a girl stands still"
I kept listening and smiling down at my sister as she cried out. Despite the pain coursing through my body, this was still a reason to smile. At least she could sing for me in my last few minutes...
"It has been here at this sea from long ago
A secret legend"
"I'm not sparing his life!" Ted said, sinking his axe into my arm, drawing lots of red blood. "I gave you a choice and you didn't take it so now he's going to die!"
"Put a parchment with a wish written on it"
"Into a small bottle"
"And if it's washed away by the sea then someday"
"The thought will bear fruit"
The Kagamines were screaming despite the cloth that put into their mouths. I couldn't make out what they were saying, considering that my hearing was starting to fade away.
"Drifting away, a small bottle of glass
A message with a wish placed in
Far behind the horizon
Quietly disappearing"
My eyes were starting to roll back and I finally just closed them.
"You were always beneficial to me
And would do anything
I've always been selfish
And gave you troubles"
I could faintly still hear her singing but it was slowly fading away. I could still hear the Kasanes laughing though. The laugh irritated me and I wish they would at least stop for five seconds.
"You who would fulfill my wish
Are no longer here so
I am getting the sea
To deliver my thoughts"
5...
"Drifting away, a little wish
Tears and a slight regret
Realizing sin is always
After everything is over"
4...
"Drifting away, a small bottle of glass
A message with a wish placed in
Far behind the horizon
Quietly disappearing"
3...
"Drifting away, a little wish
Tears and a slight regret"
2...
"If we could be reborn..."
1...
I heard Miku's scream as Ted jabbed the knife right into my heart. I screamed as the pain became too much to handle and my breathing subsided and my head rolled to the side.
"Goodbye" I said, as tears rolled out of my eyes. "Miku"
