Chapter 9
First Date, First Kiss

Rin POV:

"Uhhh.. Len.. Did you just say.. a date? Where?"

He just laughed and replied, "Yes I did! What'd you think I said? We're going to the Amusement Park!" jokingly.

I blushed and just slowly and timidly nodded. Hoping he understood that I accepted his request.

He smiled, "Teto and Ted are going too."

I sighed of relief. With Teto going I was less nervous and shaking than before. I guess you can say, I still can't believe that I'm Len's.. girlfriend.. "When are we going?"

"Tomorrow, at noon okay?"

"Okay!" I said.

I can't wait!

But before we could really go on our da—date.. we had to go through school first.. As Len and I walked inside the building, the first thing I received was many, many, MANY cold glares. I just stood there shaking and that's when Len grabbed my hand and pulled me to our seats. According to Len, he and I are sitting next to each other in class now. I was happy but then again I felt many eyes on me, watching my every move. I shivered and Len looked at me with concern.

"Are you cold?"

"H-Huh? N-No I'm not cold! What are you t-talking about? Hehe…"

He just shrugged a little, "Oh okay.."

I sighed of both embarrassment and stress.. This is going to be a long day..

As soon as school was over Len told me that he had to go to the nurse's office to turn in his form. You know, when he injured his arm, blah blah blah. I just nodded and waited outside for him. Teto and Ted had already left so I just stood there looking like retard. Then suddenly these two girls came up to me. I believe their name was Lily-san and Gumi-san, and they did not look happy.

"A-Ah How may I help you?" was all that managed to come out of my mouth.

"Oh shut up!" They both said simultaneously.

"E-eh?" Okay I'm confused..

"Lookie here Rin.. We don't like how you are going out with Len-sama!" Lily exclaimed.

Len-sama..? Really?

I knew Len was popular with almost all the girls in my school, but I didn't think that they would go this far for him..

"Well? Cat got your tongue?" Gumi said.

I wasn't really paying attention until I heard them scream in frustration from me not answering them. With my peripheral vision, I saw Lily raise a hand. I predicted that they were going to slap me and closed my eyes.

It's okay Rin.. Just be a strong girl and take it..

I kept waiting for a stinging pain in my cheek but nothing was happening. I slowly opened my eyes and saw that Len had come back and had a hold of Lily's hand.

"Oi.. Lily back off of her." Len said with a serious tone.

"B-But Len.."

"Leave her alone." Len said again with an even more serious tone, almost anger.

"What could she possibly meant to you Len?" Gumi said angrily.

"You really want to know?" Len almost yelled, which actually startled me.

"If you really want to know.. Rin means everything to me.."

My eyes widened and I slowly looked up at Len. He was covering his face with his hand and with his other hand, he grabbed mine and walked away from Lily and Gumi who were almost shattered by his words. When we were walking he still had my hand in his. The walk back was quiet, until Len said, "Gomene.. For those two.."

I just shook my head frantically, "N-No! It's okay! Really!"

He didn't seem to believe me. "You almost got hurt from them.."

He worried about me? "No really I'm fine!"

He still had an emotionless face and I said, "Do I have to hit you to make you believe me?" I said with a smile bright enough for him to hopefully be convinced. He started laughing and I soon joined the laughter. I made him laugh again and that made me feel better even when Lily and Gumi were kinda mean to me.

When I returned home that night, I was so excited! I had totally forgotten about the date! I swear I couldn't fall asleep. I finally fell asleep after countless times of tossing and turning. It was about 5 AM when I did fall asleep.. I woke up to the sound of Teto banging on my door.

"RIN! ARE YOU READY YET?"

I looked at my clock drowsily and I immediately woke up. 11:40…

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I'M LATE!"

Len POV:

When I returned home, I couldn't help but think about the position I had put Rin into. Because of my stupid play-boy side, all the other girls probably hate Rin now.. That's why I'm going to make sure she has a good time tomorrow.

I was on my way to Rin's house and I swear I couldn't sleep last night. I mean it's our first date.. I was really excited but nervous all the while. I woke up at least an hour earlier than I should have and I slowly got ready at that time. And now I am walking towards her house, until suddenly—

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I'M LATE!"

I chuckled and said to myself, "Same old Rin.."

I waited outside, leaning against the fence. I almost started dozing off until I heard Teto and Rin coming out the door. I also saw Ted just coming around the corner. Rin had her regular old white bow, a soft pink sweater with a skirt, alongside with boots. I couldn't help but blush because she just looked really.. cute..

Rin POV:

Great job Rin.. Your late for your first date ever in life.. Great impression of yourself. I just threw random stuff on and surprisingly it wasn't tacky and matched perfectly. Teto was yelling at me to hurry up. I just hurriedly grabbed my bag and slung it around my back. (It was a backpack style bag) I ran out the door and saw that Len was already here. So embarrassing.. He just gently smiled and I just kept looking down, glancing up from time to time.

"Sorry to keep you waiting.."

He just laughed and nudged me with reassurance, "It's okay Rin.."

I gave him a smile and glanced over at Teto who was already talking to Ted with confidence. Geez I wish I could talk to Len easily like that. Then I started laughing because I thought of how ironic that sounded. I mean Teto was soo nervous about talking to Ted a while ago and now she talks to him so easily now. Len just smiled at my laughter, probably wondering what I was laughing about. All four of us walked up to the admission and entered the amusement park.

"Rin! Have fun with Len! Ted and I will meet you here in about 3 hours okay? Then we'll go eat something together!"

Me and Len both nodded to what Teto had yelled and we just walked around until something caught our eyes.

"Len! Lets ride that one!"

I said as I pointed to the roller coaster that looked fun! With its loop-de-loops and upside down, swirling—you get the point! Len just nodded with enthusiasm and we both rode the ride. At one point, I was so scared that I unconsciously grabbed on to Len's arm as we were going downhill. When I looked up Len was blushing, aww how cute. When we got off the ride we were so dizzy. I was probably more dizzier than Len because he looked like he wanted to go again. I wasn't sure where I was going and an unexpected thing happened.. As Len and I were walking rather jaggedly a cute couple bumped into us which made Len and I kiss. My eyes widened and so did his as we quickly flinched back.

"S-SORRY!" we both said simultaneously

"A-Ah, w-we sh-should w-walk around a l-little more.." I said still blushing heavily at what had just happened. Len agreed and we started walking. As we were walking Len had grabbed my hand. I looked up in surprise. "We're going out so.. we should hold hands right?" I smiled at his blushing face and nodded. "Y-Yeah.."
