Chapter 8
Idiot

Len POV:

After Rin's performance I couldn't take it.. I ran off.. I started to walk around the place just spacing out.. Thinking of the unthinkable.. (Is that even a word? Lmao..) the unimaginable.. and most importantly, the impossible.. The thing I am thinking about you ask? The possibility that Rin would forgive me.. For being a smartass, player, and an asshole.. Of course that would never happen..

It was soon very late and I hadn't noticed the time. I started to walk towards my house. Until I hear slurred speech. They seem to want a girl that they just randomly bumped into in the streets.

What the hell is going on?

I crept up to the alley they were lurked in and I watched carefully on what they were doing. I must have came just in the right time because whoever the girl was, the 2 guys were unbuttoning her shirt.

"Oi! Let her go!"

They both turned around and it revealed the maiden that they held captive. It was precisely, Rin? What the hell.. Of all people.. It's her..

"L-Len?" was all that she was able to gasp out and at the process I was more than outraged to see these good-for-nothing tramps trying to get Rin. My fist was launched toward the guy who had a hold of Rin's shirt but suddenly that's when the other guy pulled Rin in front and held a knife against her neck. I quickly stopped my fist from hitting her face and flinched at the knife that glared at my eyes.

"Che~ Hit us, we kill the girl."

What the hell.. what am I going to do? I don't want to hurt her. Dammit!

Rin POV:

I felt the sharp edge of the knife against the skin in my neck. I was crying already at this point and looking at Len he was really distressed.

I couldn't take it anymore! First of all, the awkward silence was killing me and standing in this stance was kind of suffocating me.. I quickly stomped on the guy's foot and he flinched and dropped the knife. I quickly grabbed it before they could do anything about it. Len quickly got into action and I saw Len and the other guys throwing fists at each other. The fight took a while and I stood there shaking and covering my eyes. I heard silence and I released my hands from my eyes to see that Len was panting. I was never this scared.. Ever. It was probably from all this mental distress I was getting.. I snapped back into reality and I ran to Len. He is always there when I was in trouble..

Even the first day I saw him again, he was the one that saved me.. He was always like my knight in shining armor..

I shakily hugged him and started to cry, leaving tears in his clothes.

Len POV:

These guys weren't easy to beat but I eventually defeated them. I winced and looked down at my arm. They messed up my right arm pretty bad.. Apperently, they had another knife with them.. It was a complete bloody mess. I saw that Rin had let go of her eyes and she shakily and nervously ran up to me and started to cry on my clothes. I winced at the pain that was made when she nudged my arm a little bit. She, after what seemed like 2 minutes or so let go of me and would not look me in the eyes.

I said weakly, "Uh.. Well I'll be leaving now."

As I turned around she hugged me again.

"D-Don't go.."

"R-Rin what are you doing? Let me go.."

"NO!" she yelled rather loud.

"Why?" I said a little more weakly than before..

"Because.."

"What could possibly be your reason?"

"Because.. Because I.. I like you, you idiot!"

My eyes widened at what she said.

"W-What?"

She seemed rather disappointed and she let go, "I guess you don't feel the same way huh?"

No Rin.. I do feel the same..

"Well, I'm sorry to get in the way.."

As she turned to run away, I without thinking grabbed her arm, and embraced her.

"Rin.. You always had a habit of running away before hearing other's answers.. I really like you Rin.."

She sobbed, "T-Then why did you hang out with so many girls?"

"I guess when you were with Kaito, I got carried away, I'm sorry.. I was stupid.. I'm sorry Rin.. but you're the one I like.. I always have and I always will.."

She let go and looked up and wiped her tears away.

"Okay.. I forgive you.. and I'm sorry for making you get carried away.. I didn't mean to."

I just gave a tiny smile and forgave her as well. For the first time in a long time she smiled.

"Shall we go home?" She just nodded and as I walked I accidently nudged my arm, "Ow!"

Rin POV:

I'm so glad we apologized to each other.. What makes the situation even better is that.. Len likes me back.. I blushed at the thought and I heard Len ask me, "Shall we go home?" I snapped back into reality and turned to walk home with him. I suddenly heard him yell in pain and I turned around to see Len's bloody wound from the fight.

"L-Len! A-are y-ou okay?"

He winced and weakly said, "I-I'm fine.."

"No you're not! Come on we have to go to the hospital now!"

"It's too late Rin, I'll be—" he winced in pain again.

I felt really bad now, it was all my fault. "No! Come on!"

We finally arrived at the nearest hospital and they took him in to the examination room as I stayed outside waiting for the results, until suddenly a text message

Teto : Rin! Where the hell are you? I thought you were coming home?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that..

Rin : Sorry Teto, something came up I'll be home soon hopefully. GO TO SLEEP! It's like 3 AM now!

I put up my phone and kept waiting for the results. I prayed that it wouldn't be serious. The doctor soon came out and I almost ran up to him.

"Doctor! How is he?"

He said, with a matter-of-factly tone, "Kagamine Len-san's arm will have to stay bandaged up for at the most a month and a half. His condition is not the greatest. Even when he takes the bandages off he can't use his right arm as much as he used to, so make sure he limits his use of his arm from now on."

"Y-Y-Yes.. Doctor…" I said rather softly..

I couldn't believe that he couldn't' use his right arm more effectively as of now. Now I felt horrible. I was about to walk in his room with a look of despair, but at the last minute I realized that I should be positive. I attempted to smile but the best I could do was keep my face emotionless. I finally walked in to find that Len's arm was all bandaged up.

"Hi there" he said tiredly.

"Hi..." I said softly.

"What's wrong..?" He said with confusion with a mix of concern in his eyes.

Tears were slowly forming in my eyes and I slammed my head against the hospital bed. I sobbed until Len questioned me with a worried tone.

"Whats wrong Rin..?"

"I-It's a-all m-my f-fault.. I'm s-sor-rry.." I muffled.

"What are you talking about.." he replied.

I lifted myself up slowly and said, "The doctor says that even after you take the bandages off your arm you can't use your arm as much as you used to, and that you should limit the use of it.. I'm sorry.. It's—"

"Stop apologizing idiot.." he said while he gave me a hug.

That obviously shut me up and I didn't say anything afterward. The doctor let us leave and reminded me to make sure I watch him closely. I nodded and left. I walked with Len to his house and there was a worried anxious Neru at the door.

"Kagamine Len! I know you're a high schooler and all but do you know what time it is?"

We both looked down.

"It's 4:30 AM! How—"

She stopped yelling when she saw Len's arm.

"L-Len? What happened?"

We both explained to her what had happened and afterwards, Neru calmed down. She soon left us to go back to sleep now that she knows that Len is home and I turned around, retreating to return home myself. "I'll walk you.."

I shook my head heavily with disagreement and pushed him towards what I thought was his room. "No.. I can walk home by myself.. You rest up.." he just looked at me with concern but then he just gave a small smile and said, "Okay fine.. but can I ask you something?" I just nodded and he asked, "Are we officially.. you know.. going out?" I blushed and said a little bit too quickly than I thought, "U-Uh.. well I don't mind.. do you?"

"No.. I would actually like it if you were my you know.."

I blushed tremendously..

"Uh.. yeah me too.."

It was his turn to blush—aww how adorable..

"Well then.. I'll see you tomorrow then.."

He quickly gave me a hug and ran into his room. I left his house with a tiny smile and a warm feeling inside. This is what it feels like huh?

I walked inside to find an angry Teto.. She seemed tired.. I'm guessing that she was asleep but woke up when she realized that I still wasn't home.

"H-Hi Teto.."

"KAGAMINE RIN! Where were you?"

"Uhh well perverts stopped me again.. and Len saved me.. and IToldHimThatILikedHim.. and he injured his hand and we went to the hospital and—"

"WHOA! Say that one part you said extremely fast again!"

"Uhh, I don't know what you are talking about!"

"Rin! Tell me!"

We stayed up since Teto claimed that she would not go to sleep until she knows what happened. I eventually told her and I was slowly dozing off until I realized that by the time I had finished my story it was time for me to get ready for school. Oh! And by the way Teto and Ted are going out now! It's like 'OMFG!' anyway this happened when Ted dropped Teto off last night.. Anyway,

Teto and I walked out of the house and Ted came to greet his new girlfriend. I just chuckled at them and Teto gave me a glare. I just made a heart formation with my hands and walked away with a devilish grin. I started walking by myself and I almost fell asleep walking until someone woke me up. Len shook me while I was walking and he started laughing.

"Rin~~"

"Oh, hi Len.."

"Have a good sleep?"

"To be honest I didn't sleep at all! Teto kept me up.."

"Awww poor you.."

"Oh shut up.."

Our day was pretty much like that, of course I still felt guilty about the arm thing and I got scolded by him again..

After his somewhat recovery..

"Rin!"

"WHAT?" I said back while laughing.

"Let's go on a date!"
