Happy Birthday, Forever

Rin sharpened her knife, which was gleaming brightly with it's chrome polish.

Tonight was the night.

Oh yes.

Rin had always hated having a twin; sharing rooms, always being mistaken for the other, sharing snacks…

And Len, even if he did have the smaller part of the room, and often gave Rin his share of the snacks, was still a nuisance to her.

And that was why, she would kill him.

But not before saying good bye.

Rin smiled deviously at this plan. She laughed hysterically, throwing the sharpened knife into wall, right into the portrait of Rin and Len.

And the knife was plunged into Len's face.

"Len?"

Rin tip-toed farther into his room, observing her setting. His room was frankly…yellow. It was also adorned with photo's of Rin and Len.

Len smiling; Rin scowling.

Len laughing; Rin screaming.

Len eating a cookie; Rin staring at her plate of spinach.

A twist of fury and jealously twisted in Rin's stomach; he was the good kid.

HE WAS ALWAYS THE GOOD KID.

She would kill him tonight; on this cold December night, since he wasn't here right now.

Rin relaxed in her room, watching her favorite movie, ZombieLand.

"AHAHA! SUCKER!" Rin laughed, watching a fat kid run across a football stadium, only to be eaten by a zombie. She stared at the blood with adoring eyes.

"Oh, I love the color of blood," She smiled, looking over at the knife beside her. She got up and went over to Len's room.

It was 4:58 AM, the perfect time to murder someone and then to run away.

She opened the door, and let herself in. She was surprised to see Len folding a package on his bed. She quickly shoved her knife into her pocket.

"Ha-ha! Len!" Rin giggled nervously, sitting beside him. She stared at Len's hands anxiously, which were holding a small package.

"Oh, hi Rin!" Len smiled, facing her. Rin wanted to spit in his face right then.

Come on Rin! Hold yourself together!

"So, Len! What are you doing?" Rin asked, looking over his shoulder.

Oh my god, it was orange.

"Uh, Rin…" Len mumbled. Rin glared silently at him.

What do you want? Freaking little punk.

"Close your eyes," he suddenly said, looking at Rin with pleading eyes.

"What? Why?" Rin cried with protestation. She hated to be told what to do.

"Just, do it, please?"

Fine, little jerk. Let you have your fun before you die, Rin thought, closing her eyes. She felt a soft packet touch her palm.

She opened her eyes, seeing the orange-wrapped package.

"What.." she mumbled, staring up at Len.

"I thought about this, since it is our special day," Len started to say.

Rin got up, and pulled the knife out of her pocket. Len stared at the knife as if it was natural. He looked into Rin's eyes with unreadable emotion.

"You know, I've always hated being a twin," Rin told him. She plunged the knife into Len's chest.

"But, now, I'm not," she finished, pulling the knife out and sticking it back in him. She watched in satisfaction as his limb body fell to the floor, trailing a rich red color behind him.

She studied his face, satisfied that her job was done.

But was that…a smile?

Rin's body grew cold, he knew he was gonna die, wasn't he?

She looked down in the orange package she was still holding. She hesitantly opened it, and found a small note.

Hi Rin.

Well, do you really hate me that much? It hurts, it really does.

But oh well, it makes my sweet twin happy, so that's what matters. I know I'm gonna die tonight, so I prepared a small gift for you.

I'm probably gonna be dead when your reading this, but I want you to know this:

I love you and Happy 15th birthday.

Love, Len, your old brother.

Rin dropped her knife, which was leaking of blood.

She couldn't believe this. He knew, he knew….

She had failed.

Rin looked at the thing in her hand, finding a road-roller toy and a small photo. She tossed the toy away; even if she liked those things, she didn't want it from Len. She looked over at the photo, and was shocked.

SHOCKED.

It was her and Len, hugging together, probably when her hatred wasn't growing yet. He wrote a small sentence at the bottom.

Love ya, sis.

Happy birthday.

Rin stared at the photo, and then stared at Len's pummeled body. She felt tears run down her cheeks.

How could've she been this foolish? Len was like a servant to her, treating her like a princess!

She was his princess. Gosh, she was so evil.

She was the Daughter of Evil.

She hugged the photo, and then the knife. She thrust the knife into her small chest, blood bursting from the sudden impact.

She died almost immediately, but not before mumbling a few extra words.

Love ya too, bro.

Happy birthday.
