Chapter 12
Too Good to Be True
Len POV:
~ FLASHBACK ~
The day before Rin's birthday..
I know I just saw my mom for the first time ever in life, but she is really wanting to know my personal and social life.. Especially and typically with Rin..
"You need to ask her out!" or "When are you going to have her over?"
I know I shouldn't be complaining.. I mean you just met her 3 days ago! Stop complaining, but this is really kind of annoying. I was thinking that for her birthday I would confess to her, but it was an absolutely HUGE mistake to tell my mom. Now she insists that she watches the whole thing.. No matter how much I beg for her not to, she wants to watch it, like some sort of shojou anime or something.. I regret saying that I was going to confess to my mom, but it's not like it's the end of the world right? Well actually it could be the end of it all if she starts embarrassing me in front of Rin, I swear if that happens, I would probably isolate my personal and social life away from my mother..
But the bright side is, I managed to shoo her away when I was actually confessing to Rin!
I decided that soon, (soon as in the day before Rin's birthday) I decided to but a necklace with Rin's name engraved on the back with the formation of a treble clef. She loved to sing, and it was obviously perfect for her. It wasn't exactly the most cheapest thing in the world, but it was absolutely worth it.
~ END OF FLASHBACK ~
Rin POV:
Did he just ask me what I think he just asked me? I can't believe it!
"Y-Yes.."
He gave me the smile that I absolutely adore and ran and hugged me. I blushed but hugged him back. We had a pretty good time at the party. I mean I never really had birthday celebrations before.. To be completely honest, I never knew about them.. I just heard about them when I was younger..
I opened the box that Len had given me and my eyes grew wide. It was absolutely beautiful. It had my name engraved on it too.. It was a treble clef necklace. I looked at Len with a look that should send the message, 'how much was this, it better not be expensive' and hopefully he got my message.. He just laughed and took the necklace from me and put it around my neck. After he put it on, I quickly turned around and I gave a big hug.
"Thank you Len.. This is by far the best birthday ever.."
I saw him blush at my comment and he hugged me back..
"You're Welcome Rin.."
It was soon getting dark and I suppose that I should head home. Len wanted to walk me home but I told him it was fine.. I mean his house was not that far from mine, I think I can handle it. I arrived home and I couldn't believe it.. My mom was actually home..
"M-Mother?"
"Oh.. Hi there Rin.."
"W-What are you doing here?"
"Oh I'm packing my belongings.. You should pack too.."
"Wait a minute, what are you talking about?"
"Oh, that's right, I didn't tell you did I.. We're moving."
What the hell.. No we are not moving!
"B-But Mom I.. I have friends here though!"
"She gave me a look of disbelief, "You actually have friends?" Well that was a little mean.. "Yeah.. I even have a.. boyfriend.."
"Okay that's outrageous.."
"No really mother I do—"
"Rin stop. Just pack we are leaving the day after tomorrow.."
"Why are we even leaving anyway?"
"I got.. a fiancé kind of..."
You've got to be kidding me right? We're moving just for a new fiancé?
"But I don't want to leave!"
"I don't care! Now pack!"
"NO!"
I ran to my room and slammed the door.. I'm not moving.. I held on to my necklace that Len gave me.. I thought my life was going to change for the better not for the worst..
The Next Day..
Len POV:
I left to go pick Rin up and I saw her come out of her house.
"Rin!" I yelled to grasp her attention.
She just looked over my direction and she looked as if she cried..
"What's wrong?"
She kept her head down, avoiding eye contact with me and said, "Len.. I'm Moving.."
"W-What?" I said with shock.
