Chapter 4
The Horrid Encounter

Rin POV:

I stood there.. tense.. shaking.. I saw him..

It has been 6 years and I thought that I would never see him again for the rest of my life.. and I see him..

He says, "Well, well, well.. Look at what we have here.. If it isn't my daughter.." Len got wide eyed and walked in front of me and said to my father, "I'm sorry sir, but I'm going to ask you to leave.." Len was rudely remarked back by my father "Who the hell are you?" Len politely again said, "I'm a friend of Rin.."

My father bursted out laughing and said, "Rin? With a friend? That's crazier than the sky falling!" My father kept laughing, but within those eyes, I could still see anger.

He stopped laughing, and he had suddenly pushed Len out of the way. He walked up to me and grabbed my wrist, "You are coming with me this instant!" he said roughly.

I was so scared that I couldn't move and without fighting back I followed my father to wherever he was leading me. Len suddenly made my father release his grasp of my wrist by pulling me back. Len said, "Just leave her alone!" very angrily.

My father then slightly chuckled and came up to me, eye level, and whispered, "If you don't want me to hurt your friend, then I suppose you stop him.. NOW."

This made me slightly gasp. I didn't want anything to happen to Len because of me.. Although I was scared, I wanted to make sure that Len wasn't hurt all because of me..

My father then grabbed my hand again, this time almost pinching it and headed for the door. Len attempted to grab me and I rejected his grasp and said to Len, "Len.. Thanks for everything.. I know you tried to stop my father but he is just impossible to stop.. I don't want you to be hurt because of me.. and this is my problem anyway.. so.. I just wanted to let you know that.. Thanks to you.. I got to enjoy at least some part of my life.. Thank you Len.." and with that my father opened the door and left the café.

Len POV:

I couldn't believe it.. She was gone.. My best friend was gone.. And I let her go.. I can't imagine what her father could be doing to her now.. I just stood there in shock of what I have just done.. I promised myself that I would be there for her at all times and already I have broken that promise.. What am I going to do?

The Next Day..

I walked up to my desk and as expected Rin wasn't there.. I'm worried sick and I couldn't sleep at all last night.. I feel like crap and I wasn't in the mood for anything or anyone.. Luka Sensei came inside the classroom and she said, "Class.. I'm afraid that Kagamine Rin will not be attending this school as of now.."

That statement woke me up. I couldn't believe it.. This can't be happening.. I heard cheering, and happy remarks..

I wish they would just shut up..

In the corner of my eye, I saw Miku with a evil grin on her face.. I had a feeling that she had something to do with Rin not going to this school anymore.. So since Sensei was talking to a different Sensei from a different class, I decided to go up to Miku and ask her about it.

"Hey Miku.."

"Oh Len! What brings you here?"

"Uhmm well, I was wondering if you knew something about Rin.."

"That bitch? Heh, I don't know.."

Miku was really pissing me off right now.. "Please Miku.. If you know tell me.."

Miku just looked at me innocently and kept denying she knew anything. I decided to give up and just leave school.

I walked, and walked and walked.. I didn't know where I was going, but all I knew was, I was walking somewhere..

What did Rin do to deserve this?

One Week Later..

I am still searching for Rin and I have never thought of giving up no matter what..

Suddenly, as I was walking around the neighborhood, I saw, Rin's father going around the corner.. I ran all my might to catch up to him. I saw her.. Rin.. I saw her..! She was bruised and scratches were everywhere.. Rin's father said to Rin, "You are lucky I spared your life when I left, but I wouldn't say you are lucky now.."

"Please father, if you're going to end my life, let me at least, say goodbye to someone.. please?" I flinched at that word. Goodbye..? Not on my watch!

"I don't care. Now to finish what I didn't finish 6 years ago!" Rin's father pulled out a knife from behind his back and I, jumped in the middle to save her life.. You're not going to leave this world on my watch Rin..

Everything suddenly turned black..

Rin POV:

My eyes were closed shut, knowing that he was going to kill me. But then I heard the piercing noise of someone getting stabbed.. but it wasn't me.. It was.. Len? "LEN!" I screamed. My father ran away muttering a curse, hoping he wouldn't get caught stabbing an innocent bystander.

With many tears in my eyes I bent down and held his head, "Len.. Why did you do it? Why?"

He weakly chuckled and said softly, "I—wanted to that's—why… You're my best f—riend.. How could I—not?" I have never cried this much in so long.. I quickly came to my senses and got my cellphone, Yeah, Yeah I know what you're thinking, You're Poor! How do you have a cellphone? Well, my mother bought it for me when I was 7, for safety purpose.. and called 911 and the ambulance came to get Len.

Len.. Please be okay.. Please..
