Rin started pacing around her room as she anxiously waited for a certain someone to get on Skype when she suddenly noticed an orange and white box appear in the bottom right corner of her laptop's screen.
Len Kagamine is online.
Finally!
She dashed towards her computer as she quickly changed her status from "invisible" to "online" and immediately clicked on Len's name to send him a message.
Rin Kagamine is online.
Rin Kagamine: Len! (H)(H)((H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)(H)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
:*:*:*
Len Kagamine: Yes?
Rin Kagamine: I miss you~~~! (hug)
Len Kagamine: I know, I know. I miss you too. (hug)
Rin Kagamine: Gah-! I can't wait for you to come back to Japan! ;(
Len was currently abroad in New York to work on his vocals. He grew sick of people calling him a shota and saying that sometimes his pronunciation was off in songs. Not only that, but what ticked him off the most was being compared to a certain, very annoying, 12-year-old looking, sounded like a girl- yet was popular amongst the young girls pretty boy who had yet to reach puberty. Seriously, Len couldn't take it anymore and Crypton was also determined to keep their male Vocaloids up to date with their singing capabilities since they had the roughest time receiving good reception amongst fans compared to the female Vocaloids. Of all places, they sent him to New York. Far, far away. Of course, Rin hated this the most. She couldn't stand being so far away from Len. Not only that, but the time difference also killed them. The past month had been really rough on her, especially when she couldn't even hang out with her best friends because they were off with their boyfriends. Normally when that happened, she had Len to hang out with so she was never lonely. Now, all they had was Skype to connect them. Rin couldn't take it anymore.
That's it, I'm calling.
Incoming call from Rin Kagamine.
Impatient now, are we? Len was amused by this, their normal skype chats kept getting shorter and shorter as Rin grew impatient every time and unsatisfied with just typing.
Accept call.
"LEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN~~~~~~~~~~~!"
"Wha-"
"I MISS YOU SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA!"
"Rin, please stop shouting!"
"Mrphhhhhh." She was pouting on the other end, pitching high squeaks. She was so excited to call him and he was telling her to surpress her excitement?
"What?" He spoke in a sweet tone as he tried to allure an amusing response out of her.
"This is just so unfair, Len! I can't take this separation anxiety anymore! I just want to hug you, stuff you in a box, and take you home with me!"
You're not the only one Rin.
"I know, I wish I could hug you right now too."
"You don't sound too enthusiastic about it. In fact, you don't sound like you miss me at all. I bet you're having so much fun without me in New York by yourself." Len started to frown at this. Having fun? He was stuck in the studio all day doing rehearsals in order to improve his voice. The main reason he was doing it was actually so that he would perfectly match Rin and have the critics leave him alone over certain quirks. He didn't want to drag Rin down anymore.
"Rin, I have a tight schedule. I really don't have much free time. I actually use up all of my free time just to talk to you when you're on. Is that proof enough that I miss you?
"I guess." Rin sulked in her chair. It's not enough, Len. I want you here, right now.
Len Kagamine: (H)
"I'll be back soon Rin."
"Len..."
"Hmm?"
"Len."
"What?" Rin could sense the slight irratation in his voice as he couldn't figure out why Rin just kept repeating his name. Fine, lets play it this way.
"Len~"
"What, Rin?"
"Len~~"
"Seriously, what?"
"Lennn~~~!"
"What? Why do you keep repeating my name?" Len always got easily irratated when he couldn't figure out Rin's certain quirks. He was suppose to reflect her perfectly and know her well so not knowing her schemes always made him frustrated.
"I miss you." Huh? Didn't we just have this conversation?
"I know, you already told me."
"No, I really miss you."
"Rin, we go through this everyday-"
"Idiot."
"What?" First, she repeats the "I miss you" and then retorts it to "idiot."
"You just don't get it Len."
"Tell me Rin, what don't I get?"
"It's so unfair how I couldn't go with you. It's unfair how Crypton kept me behind here, in Japan while you flew off to New York City. It's unfair how I have no one to talk to when Miku, Luka, and the other girls are out on their dates and having fun. It's unfair how my only communication with you is through a computer! I can't even touch you!"
Len could feel her pain. His only companions were the birds that would visit his balcony as his manager ran off to handle appointments and other things. He was lonely just as much, if not more than she was.
"I don't think you understand just how much I miss you, Len."
"And I don't think you understand just how lonely I am without you here with me, Rin."
"Huh?" Finally, she was getting some real emotions out of him.
"I really hate it, being so far away from you. I can't stand it, coming back to you sooner is the very reason that I had my manager keep my schedule tight for training my voice because the faster I improve, the quicker I'll be able to hug you and hold you in my arms. Even if I'm not very good at expressing it, I really do miss you, Rin."
Rin's frown turned into a smile as her face started to lit up as she began to giggle on her end.
"Haha, you know we sound like star struck lovers forbidden from seeing each other."
"Do you want to be?"
"What do you mean, Len?" Now Rin seemed to be the one not getting the hint.
"What do you think, Rin?"
Rin Kagamine: :?
"Really, Rin? You don't understand what I mean?"
"Why don't you get straight to the point then."
"It's silly, confessing my feelings over a Skype call but I guess while we're separated it can't be helped. I love you, Rin."
Len Kagamine: (H) :* (hug)
Rin Kagamine: (blush)
"You're right, Len. It is silly, so you better tell me just how much you love me when you come home! Especially since right now I'll I want to do is kiss you and glomp you to the ground."
Len sinked further into his chair knowing all to well that returning to Rin meant that he won't be able to leave the Crypton household for a good week once he returns, especially if they just upgraded from their former relationship of being "friends/counterparts/partners for duets/the perfect reflection of eachother" to lovers. She'll never let me go, I'm going to die from being hugged to death.
-beep beep-
Len turned to his phone, hearing the incoming text. Opening it, his eyes lit up as he returned his chair to face his computer.
"Hey, Rin you know what?"
"What?"
"I'll be returning to you sooner than we thought."
Len stepped out of the car as he gazed up to the Crypton house.
"So Len, you're well aware that you won't be able to step one foot out of this house once you step in, right?"
Len sighed to Miku's statement. He already knew that. At least returning to Rin's affection in their house was better than having people stare at them in the airport for their public display of affection.
"Len, I've already arranged it so that no one is in our house except for Rin."
"What?"
"Don't 'What?' me. We don't need to hear all the squealing and...whatever else."
"Miku, just what are you implying?"
"Nothing, I'm just teasing you. You know, if you would have taken any longer to confess, I would have had to play cupid."
Len shrugged to this. Miku playing cupid never ended quite well.
"Well Len," Miku embraced Len, wrapping him in a warm sisterly hug. "It was great knowing you, I hope you survive Rin's affections!" Miku salluted Len as she skipped off down the street.
Miku, you're so...unique? Strange Diva.
Len opened the door to the house. So far so good. He carried his luggage as he crept upstairs to both his and Rin's room. Opening the door, he expected to be tackled to the ground at that very instant only to see a his room filled with everything but Rin. Where is she? Placing his luggage to the side,Len sighed as he walked over to his bed only to be pinned down to it instead.
"Len!" Rin had pinned him down as she continued to hug him from behind.
"Rin, I can't breathe!"
"If you can't breathe, then how are you speaking?"
Len managed to turn himself over as Rin continued hugging him.
"You're not going to let go, are you?"
"Never again! You're never leaving me again!" Rin buried her head into Len's chest as he left out a relieving sigh. 'You better tell me just how much you love me when you come home!' Remembering her words from that Skype call, Len swiftly grabbed Rin's chin, bringing her face close to him as he closed the gap between them by giving her a sweet kiss. Breaking apart, Rin's face was slightly red as she didn't expect Len to suddenly kiss her like that.
"I love you, Rin. Probably more than you'll ever know." Len turned his gaze to his luggage by the door. "And by the way, I brought back a gift for you, why don't you go open it? It's right next to my suitcase." Rin skipped over to the door, seeing the big present next to Len's suitcase. She completely tore the wrapping paper to see what was underneath; a giant banana and orange plushie.
"Kyaaa! I love it!" Rin hugged the giant plushies as she squealed and continued swaying back and forth as Len pushed himself up to see her squealing.
"By the way Rin," She stopped her squealing for a second to turn towards Len's direction. "I've been expressing how much I love you, but you've never said those same words back to me." Rin buried her face into the giant orange. Saying something like 'I love you.' should be easy for her and embarrassing for Len, not the other way around. Yet for some reason, this was more easily said then done in her mind. Rin was slightly embarrassed for once. "Rin?"
Rin took a deep breath a she shrieked into the plushies. "I wuv you I wuvffftt youft I lubptt you I lovft youf" Len stared into her direction hearing the interesting site as her words came out incomprehensible. He stood up and slowly walked over to her as she kept her eyes closed shut as he swifty lowered the plushies from her mouth..."I love you!" Slam. Rin glomped him to the ground with the plushies falling on them as Len suddenly realized the not only was Rin on top of him in an awkward position, she was also kissing him. Taking a moment in to register what just happened, he began to kiss her back. "I can't believe you fell for that Len."
"Hmm?"
"Of course I predicted that you would walk over to me if I acted all flustered like that haha! And naturally, I would knock you to the ground."
Liar. You're just embarrased for once.
"Hmm, whatever." Len swiftly kissed her again and pulled apart only to turn his gaze towards the giant orange and banana plushies he brought back.
"What should we name them?"
"Huh? You want to name the plushies?"
"I got it! Citrus and Topical!"
"Rin, those names kind of...suck."
"Okay then how about somethingt similar to ours? Lin and Ren!"
"Won't that be confusing? And those names are way to close to ours!"
"Of course they are," Rin turned her head to look into Len's eyes. "The orange shall be named Lin and the banana shall be named Ren and when ever we need to imagine each other if we're ever apart again, which will never happen anyaway but, we can just hug each other's favorite fruit so that way we're never far apart! That's why the names are similar!"
"Can't we just call them Mr. and Mrs. Banana Orange?"
"No, that's too logical."
Rin continued to smile at Len before realizing that she had forgotten something. "Ah!" She stood straight up off of Len as she dashed over to her dresser. "I almost forgot, I got you something too!" Len brought himself to sit up on the edge of the bed as Rin skipped back over. "Here!" Rin threw the small box in his face startling him as he began to unwrap it. Inside was a bass clef necklace. Len looked up to suddenly see that Rin was already wearing a treble clef one. "Now we match! Kind of." Rin wrapped her arms around Len, slightly chocking him, as she started to attack his face with many kisses. A sudden realization hit Len once more.
"You're not going to stop hugging or kissing me are you? We're never leaving this room, huh?" Rin lifted her face a bit to give Len a black stare.
"Of course not!" With that, she kissed him to the ground once more.
I could get used to this.
