Chapter 8
Highness?
"Good morning, Rin!" Miku Hatsune said, her wavy hair a mess around her ankles. It was obvious that she had only recently awoken from her appearance and the thick sleep in her voice. She was frying eggs in a pan, humming to herself as she watched the food slowly cook. "Would you like some eggs?"
Rin nodded eagerly, letting the smell of well cooked eggs hit her nostrils. She sat down at the small table in the center of the room, waiting for Miku to finish cooking the food.
"What do you think of Len?" Miku asked, keeping herself facing the food. She served the eggs on to two plates and sat across from Rin at the table. She spoke again, "Is he nice to you?"
"Yeah, he's really nice." Rin replied, digging into her food. "He's always trying to help me and stuff."
"Cool." Miku said, she couldn't think of anything else to say. Rin seemed like a good person, she didn't have a problem with the blonde girl. As long as she got time with 'her Lenny', she was perfectly fine. "Are the eggs okay?"
"Yeah, they're really great, thanks." Rin muttered, an air of calm about her. Miku grinned, clapping her hands.
"Wonderful!" Miku exclaimed happily, "The drugs are hidden!"
"...Drugs?" Rin asked, Miku covered her mouth. "What drugs?"
"Goodnight, Rin-chan."
"Hm, Miku~" Len sang, flopping lazily on the sofa. He watched as 'his' girl approached him. "Where's Rin~?"
"Why do you always ask about her? You barely know her!" Miku whined, although she was the older one. She sat in her lover's lap, awaiting an answer.
"She's my responsibility, Miku." Len replied softly, his voice was calming to Miku.
"You're only fourteen, you shouldn't have any!" Miku said, laughing rudely, "I was disowned by my parents and I was their responsibility!"
"What did you do to her, Miku?" Len asked, shoving the girl off, "You always act like this when you do something to a person you dislike."
Miku laughed sourly, "I'm obvious. She's asleep."
"Drugged?" Len asked, sounding a little curious.
"Yes," Miku replied, "Heavily drugged."
"Nice one." Len said, sarcasm in his tone. "I am going to wake her up."
Len scrambled upstairs before Miku could protest and found Rin, snoring loudly in the guest room. He sat beside her on the bed and sighed.
"Miku sure can be a pain..." He muttered, as if Rin could hear him. "I wish she was more like you...Rin..."
Len knew he would have to wait forever for Rin to wake up, but he had to stay. If she woke up and left, she would die, easily.
"My responsibility..." Len muttered, stroking her cheek.
When Rin did get up, she was furious. Len had to pin her down on the bed so that she wouldn't try to kill Miku. The funny thing was, as Len pinned her down, her face became the colour of a tomato.
"Len..." She muttered, feeling herself become lightheaded.
"Just don't, please Rin?" Len asked, "Miku didn't mean any real harm."
"Haaaah, it's fine, hehe~" Rin laughed, lightheaded-ness was obviously not a good thing for her.
"Are you okay, Rin?" Len asked, "Are you hot or something?"
Len got off of her and went back to sitting beside her on the bed. Rin pouted.
"I'm not hot, but you are~" Rin laughed and Len knew it: the girl was either high, or insane.
"You're high?" Len asked, a little tense.
"...So are you?" Rin countered, "But who cares, you're still hot."
"Yeah, you're high." Len muttered, he stood up and walked to the door, "Excuse me for a moment!"
"Miku," Len began, facing the guilty-looking teal haired girl. "What the heck did you do to her?"
Miku shifted her weight on to her other foot and sighed, "I thought she could use some more excitement - I guess my plan backfired."
"Yeah, it has!" Len replied angrily, "She keeps following me around, trying to kiss me!"
"Leennnyyyy~" Rin called, finally unpicking the lock to the door. She burst in and hugged the surprised male. "Where'd you go~?"
Miku twitched angrily, "I'll leave you guys alone..."
"You'd better not Miku, I-" The door slammed and Len mentally face palmed. His life sucked at that point. He had a girl all over him and an angry maniac on his case. How could life get any worse?
