Chapter 6
Guilt

Rin heard shouting from downstairs, and she immediately ran to see what it was. It was a sight to see, Rin watching from above as Len knocked his parents over with a sly grin on his face. He was towering over them, completely in control.

"What did you say..?" He asked darkly, stepping forward.

"L-Len, think rationally!" His mother gasped, "We're your parents!"

Len laughed sourly, "Terrible parents."

Rin was worried, because Lola and Leon looked pretty scared by their own kid. She had to do something...

"Uh, Len!" She called to him, running down the stairs, "What are you doing?"

"Rin?" Len asked, turning around. When he saw the girl he jumped, "Eh?"

Rin wanted to laugh happily as she saw the usual confused pout on Len's face. He looked so much more innocent then she had been led to believe.

"What are you doing, Len?" Rin asked carefully, edging towards him and nodding at her foster parents to move.

When Len looked back down, he saw his parents were gone, but that didn't seem to bother him. He looked back at Rin and blushed.

"I..." Len muttered, "Um..."

"Yes?" Rin asked, trying to sound as annoyed as possible, after a short pause she talked again, "So are you gonna eat some lunch?"

"Yes!" Len replied, grabbing Rin's arm lightly, "Please?"

Rin was honestly shocked by the change in personality, but she chose to ignore it. Better than having a psycho on your heels. She went to the kitchen and grabbed an already prepared sandwich - courtesy of Luka. Another one was beside it, probably for Len.

"Ham?" Rin asked slowly, "Really?"

Len laughed, "It is nice."

"But you don't have ham in yours..." Rin muttered, pouting.

"I have an allergy to it." Len said, grinning at her.

"So you have cheese?"

"Cheese is nicer than ham."

"Rin, miss Meiko is coming, they've found out what happened at the mall!" Luka called, "She'll be here in five minutes!"

"Really?" Rin said, jumping off of the bed. She was already excited yet scared to know what happened. What she didn't notice, was Len grabbing her from behind.

She froze.

"Len?" She asked, her breath already irregular.

"Understand...that," Len whispered, "I did not mean to..."

Rin was silent.

"I would never want to hurt anyone..."

"Hello again, Rin." Meiko said seriously, "I guess I will go straight into what happened, seeing as you already look scared out of your wits."

"Uh!" Rin exclaimed, but she stayed quiet after that.

"Your mother, and all of the other people in the mall, were murdered by a poisonous gas produced by a kid called Len Kagamine. It's an impossible miracle that you survived." Meiko stated, "Completely impossible...which is why, we need you."

"Hu- mpph!" Rin started screaming, all while Lola and Leon had gathered near her, creepy grins on their faces.

"Do we get the cash now~?" Lola asked happily, "I want it now~"

All the while, Rin was wondering where Luka was. The answer - shopping.

Everyone froze when the crazed laughed of a truly mental person echoed through the hall.

"You're doing the same to her as you did to me, how cute." Len laughed, walking towards the group, "And you don't expect me to stop you?"

"You're worn out, you could never..." Lola said, but Leon looked scared, "Even with the health you could never beat us with a police officer here..."

"I could say likewise, but I will win." Len said, grinning madly, "Anta no koto daikirai..."

Len pounced on Meiko, knocking her and Rin over. He kicked the woman in the nose, causing her to cry out in pain and clutch her now broken nose. He pulled Rin up and kicked Meiko again, making sure she was knocked out. He slammed Rin against the wall and decided that it would be a good time to kill his parents while he still had the chance.

Rin watched with slightly blurry vision as Len brought a knife out from behind his back, his parents were helpless. She wanted to stop him, but from the force of being hit against the hard wall, she slid to the floor in defeat.

"Time to end this, yeah?" Len growled, readying himself to strike his only family. He felt no guilt for what he was doing, he guessed that was what you got for being a psycho...

"Not without a fight!" Lola said, bring her own knife into view, "You didn't think I would come unprepared, did you now?"

The woman pushed her husband out of the way, raising her knife carefully. She brought it down, aiming for her only son and she didn't miss.

Len screamed a little when he felt the sharp knife cut into his shoulder, angry about his failed attempt to completely dodge the blow. He quickly recovered and struck his mother in the chest, ignoring the pain in his shoulder. His mother immediately dropped to the floor, blood pouring out of her stomach, it made Len giggle.

He stood up and before his face could protest stabbed him in the heart, singing a happy tune to himself. He picked up Rin and took her to the kitchen, hoping to find some decent bandages.

'Luka will love this...' He thought to himself, smiling as he bandaged his bloody shoulder.

Rin stirred, so he grabbed her and set her down on the designer couch in the room next door.

He sighed, but the excitement never left his eyes.
