Len sighed, as he watched her twin sister Rin play with the new turtle she had found the other day ago. Lately, her turtle, Crackers (a/n: sound familiar?) was the only thing she played with. If it wasn't the middle of summer, Len wouldn't mind that much, since he could hang out with his friends Gumi and Luka.
Though when school has just let out a month before, you've got nothing to do. Len sighed. 'Stupid turtle.' He thought. 'I can't even play with my sister.' He walked over to his twin, and her ugly turtle, and asked, "Why'd you name him Crackers?"
She looked up and smiled at him. "Because he likes Crackers. See?" she took a saltine cracker out of her pocket, and they watched him gobble it up. "And so do you." He heard her whisper. She took out a second cracker, and stuck it in Len's mouth.
"He-mpfh!" h almost choked on the cracker before chewing and swallowing it. He hugged his sister, and then poked the small turtle's back. "Why do you like this turtle?" he asked, still staring at Crackers.
"'Cause he's fun!"
Len then stared straight at the wall with angry burning his insides. "And, I'm not?" Rin stared at her twin sorrowfully. "N-no Len, that's not what I said." She whispered. "I bet you're just lying so I'll say, Oh okay!, skip away, and you can play with your stupid turtle again. Am I right?" Rin shook her head.
"Len! No! That's not what I said!" Len then turned the turtle onto his back. "Sure. Of course it isn't what you meant." Len then got up, and walked back to his and Rin's room. He lay on his bed, thinking, 'What does that turtle have that I don't?' he rolled over and breathily into his pillow.
Len had fallen asleep and the second he awoke, he heard his sister crying. He sprung up from his bed and left to find his sister in the living room where he had last left her. Her crying face was buryed in her arms.
"R-Rin-Chan?" He asked, touching her right shoulder. "Len!" she sprung up and hugged him then Len asked, "What's wrong?" Rin then tried to stop sobbing to explain the story. "When you turned C-Crackers over, I flipped him the right way. Then he bit my finger, then went out the door!" she pointed to an open door before collapsing into Len's shoulder.
Len patted his twin's back. "There, there. It'll be okay." He whispered, before they both left for their room, where they both fell asleep, and wouldn't let go of each other all night.
