Two Sides of the Devil's Coin

Chapter 10
Time of End

All one needs is forgiveness.
A chance to leave it all.
Not to escape.
Not to hide.
But to find the light.

Love brought me down.
And it wasn't supposed to bring me back.
But... it wasn't the relationship that helped.
My friends and my family helped me.
They helped me see reality...
...Those I loved.

There is no reason
to hang onto something
that shouldn't clutter the house.
There is no reason
to hang onto something
that will never change.

You're allowed to look back
but not to sulk.
Look back...
To see how far you have gotten.

But keep your eyes on the road ahead of you.
And if you run into a large wall...
For God's sake...

WALK AROUND THE FREAKING THING!
It's not like it's the Great Wall of China!

And even if it was,
remember that the Huns got over it.
And they were afraid of lightning!
Like me...

There's so much I never knew.
There's so much I refused to learn.
I feel so free.
Wings spread,
feathers in the wind
ready to take flight.

I am ready to leave now.
I'm over everything.

Demon,
Nightmare,
Say goodbye forever.
You no longer belong here.
So get away from me.

No matter who you are,
Or where you've been,
Remember one thing...
No one is evil,
Just as no one is good.

I don't care who you are.
Nothing you've done can define you.
Because you always change.
Kinda like Africa on the map...
No other continent is as disfigured
Nor as changed on every map as Africa.
So let's all be Africa...

Be better and always be different
Than what is written on paper.

And it's alright to be Alice,
Enjoy a little sleep,
Until it is time to wake up.
Then wake up to a bright day.

And when it rains,
Think this:
Nice. Now I get a free shower!
And when it's snowy,
Think this:
I wonder how many angels will be born today.
And when it is sunny,
Think this:
I'm nice and toasty. Thanks world!

Okay...
Maybe you shouldn't be that bright...
But still.
It's nice to wake up and think
about something wonderful and new
Instead of dreadful and old.

The canary can breathe:
It's no longer trapped in the dust.
The mourning dove can fly:
It's feathers have grown.

I'm finally free...

And Mikuo...
Wherever you may be.
Thank you.

I am sorry for what I did.
But it's time for both of us to move on.
And thank you...
For teaching me...

Thank you for helping me fly.
My friend,
My teacher,
Thank you.
You silly blue jay.

The blonde set down the pencil and closed the small book that she had in her lap. Her blue eyes looked around to where her friends sat, laughing and giggling. The entire event had been a scare for the lot, and the girl did feel slightly guilty that she had caused such worry for her lot, but the worst was over now. With a smile on her face, she set her book on the small table beside her and jumped into the lap of Len, who suddenly grew shocked by the sudden assault. Without a care she got comfortable, sitting in his lap and leaning back with her head in the crook of his neck. With a gentle grin he wrapped his arms around her.

"Aww... How cute!" Miku cheered, her hands clasped together with glee.

"Yeah, whatever," Neru grumbled, leaning against the wall and plotting her revenge. Her phone had been locked by the blue haired senior, who happened to change the password and refused to give the girl the code. Everyone looked over and glared.

"Do you have to ruin the moment?" Miku whined.

"Yes I do,"

"Can you at least go to another party?"

"No."

"Then you'll never be invited back here. Never."

"Who said I wanted to go? You throw some pretty horrid parties."

"Gah! I so do not!"

The party laughed at the two girls as they got involved in their little argument. But as the group was busy, Rin looked over to the window, for a shadow had caught her attention. Nothing seemed to be out of place, but she still didn't look away. For there, at the edge of the window, sat the blue jay from the park. His eyes held a twinkle and his feathers held a shine.

"Thank you," Rin whispered to the bird on the other side of the window. With a small nod of its head and with a spread of its wings, the small blue bird took off.

"What are you looking at, Rin?" Len looked down and asked.

"Hm?" She looked up at the boy. "Oh, nothing. Just saying goodbye to an old friend."
