Chapter 10

I jumped up in my seat. That was unexpected. "Hey guys!" Miku yelled. "Come in here!" We all groaned. "Aw! C'mon!" I got up from my comfortable position, and walked into the kitchen. My nose caught a whiff of something chocolaty. In Miku's hands, was a pan of freshly baked chocolate cookies.

"Those smell nice," I said. I was hungry. The only thing I'd eaten all day was a fried egg. Miku picked one up and shoved it in my mouth. They're those mini kind, so I ate it in one bite. "Mmm..." I said. "Guys, you've got to come in here." Luka, Gumi, Teto, and Shooter came into the kitchen and Teto said, "Something smells yummy!" Teto saw the tray and picked on up and stuffed it in her mouth. "Mmm…." She replied to the sweetness of the cookie.

Then, Gumi and Luka picked one up and ate it. "Mmm…" they replied. I notice Shooter didn't grab one. Oh well, I guess she's not that big on sweets. "These are really good Miku!" Luka exclaimed. "Yeah," I agreed. "Where'd you learn how to make 'em?" "Len, don't you remember?" Miku asked as I raised an eyebrow. "Your mother gave us this recipe, because when we were little we would bake and stuff." "Oh…" I looked down at my feet.

I don't like talking about mama with anyone other than Rin. "We have to go tomorrow." I whispered. "What?" Luka asked bending herself down exactly my height. "We have to go to 's tomorrow!" I yelled practically right in her face. "But it's all it's all the way in New York!" she yelled back. "It could take us days to get there, maybe weeks!" "Well," Teto started. "We're gonna try!" "Yeah!" We all shouted.

Gumi and Teto then yawned at the same time. They're good at pulling stuff like that off. "I'm sleepy…" Gumi said. "Me too…"Luka agreed. "Me three…." I said, closing my eyes and stretching. "Me seventy-four!" Shooter and Teto shouted together. We all bursted out laughing and Miku was just staring at us like we were retarted(boy do I hate that word). I then stopped laughing and said, "Guys….." Everyone stopped laughing and stared at me. I bet they thought I was going to burst out crying. Think again geniuses. "We have to brush our teeth again!" "Nooo!" Shooter dramatically said pinching me on the cheek.

After brushing our teeth (for the second time) we headed back to Gumi's room with our pjs on. All the girls were wearing spaghetti strap nightgowns, while I was wearing an oversized yellow tee, and black basketball shorts. Luka's was soft pink matching her hair, and she had a red headband pulling back her bangs. Teto's was a pale lavender color, and she was holding her bangs to the sides with four white barrettes. Gumi's was a pale blue color with a same-color scrunchii holding most of her hair back. Shooter was wearing a black one with dark red lace trim. After we had all settled in, Miku walked in wearing a pale green pj top, and pale green pj pants with little white dots all over them. She lied next to Gumi and Teto on one of the larger mattresses and got comfortable.

"Night you guys," I said turning off the lights, all except one little lamp. It's embarrassing to admit, but when I'm not with Rin, I'm kind of afraid of the dark. I was lying next to Luka, who apparently noticed I was a bit scared, so she wrapped her arms around me.

I turned around and kissed her on the nose as she said, "I really hope she's alright, Len." "I hope so too." I gave her one last kiss, and laid my head on the soft pillow, pulled the sheet up to my shoulders, and soon fell into a deep sleep.
