Chapter 5

When I woke this morning I saw many trees' leaves had turned red, orange, and yellow. Oh yeah, it's fall. In fact, I think today's November First. Bleh! Big science exam today! Insert frown here. I hope Rin will do okay. I bet she will she's really smart. I got up and walked to the family room. I had about an hour and a half before I have to go to school, so I decided to watch Good Morning, Japan. Right when the weatherman was saying how we need to bundle up for tomorrow, Rin walked in.

"Morning Sleeping Beauty," she giggled and sat down beside me on one of the extra mattresses. "Wat Wa-hing?" she asked, laying her head on my shoulder. "News slash weather." "Boring…." I looked at her and said, "Here you watch whatever you want, I'm going to go make breakfast." She nodded and acceptingly took the remote from my grasp. I really hope she doesn't make the TV explode-Okay, that's mean Len. I popped two pieces of bread in the toaster and went to put on my school uniform.

For boys, white buttoned up, long sleeved shirt (not a blouse) bluish-blackish pants, and a blue tie. For girls, it's a long puffed sleeved shirt, a blue short skirt, and one of those, puffed scarves you put around your neck, and tie close to the bottom. I would rather go to school nude than have to wear this outfit, but if I didn't wear it, I'd get detention.

Which, that wouldn't be so bad if Rin could live on her own. But she can't, she needs me at all times. Luckily, because of that Rin and I get to sit next to each other in every class! Ha ha! No one else gets that advantage! So when I got my suit on I practically ran into Rin in the hallway.

She had a piece of toast in her hand "Co-on! We're goona bee lat!" she dragged me to the front door. "Okay! Okay!" When we got on our subway (which we just barely missed) I was greeted by my friend Gumi Megpoid.

"Hey Len! What's up?" she said, gently punching me in the shoulder. "The sub's ceiling," I stupidly said. "And birds." Gumi looked at me like I was stupid. I held up a finger, as if to tell her, one second. "Bad Len. Bad. Zero birds." Rin smartly said looking at me. Gumi smiled at her and said, "You tell him girl!" then my other best friend, Teto Kasane called, "Gumi, come 'ere!" from the other side of the sub. I heard a bunch of people mutter, "Shut up!" under their breaths. "See ya Len." She waved bye to me and ran over to Teto.

I smiled at them. They're really great friends of mine, but neither of them are my best. My best friend doesn't ride the sub after she sat on a chewed up piece of gum stuck to one of the seats. That was really funny, so I laughed. She didn't admire my laughter, so she hit me upside the head with her purse. That however, wasn't funny.

When we stepped off the subway, and walked in the door, I was stopped by Neru Akita, the annoying hall monitor. "Hold it!" she screamed practically right in my ear. "Ow! What is it?" I yelled right back. "Hall Pass!" "Hall Pass? I just walked in! And do you always gotta yell?" "Fine!" she loudly ended walking away and harassed another kid.

When I got to my locker, I noticed Rin was tugging at my sleeve. "Hey. What's up?" "No Birds." She replied making a zero with her hand. I smiled, and patted her head. "Good Rin." She smiled back. I think she likes hearing that, especially since she usually gets mad when I pat her on the head.

She grabbed my hand and held it as I turned back to my locker. 2, 27, 96 ( two twins, both born December twenty-seventh, 1996). I grabbed some textbooks, two yellow led pencils, and a notebook, and stuffed them in my bag. I sighed, then a tap came upon the back of my head.

"Knock, Knock," a familiar voice said, using their fist to knock my back. "Who's there?" I replied with a smirk. "Your little princess," "Gasp! It wouldn't happen to be Luka Megurine, would it?" I turned around and tickled my bet friend and girlfriend, Luka Megurine on the side. I put my hand on the back of her head and kissed her. It tasted like strawberries.

Apparently Rin didn't approve of our kissing, and she stuck her tongue out at us. "And who is this?" Luka asked, breaking away from me. "Oh, this is my twin sister Rin," "I Rin and I don't yike sushi." Luka looked at me with concern. "She's got a mental disorder." I whispered in her ear. "Poor girl," she replied putting her hand to her heart.

Rin looked down at her shoes.

"Onii-san's ony frend," "I'm her only friend," I explained, putting my arm around Rin. " Well how about Gumi and I be your next?" Luka asked, sticking out her hand for Rin to shake. Rin did nothing. "Rin, Shake," I said as I grabbed her hand. She yanked her hand away from me and shook her arms and shoulders. Luka and I laughed.
