Chapter 3
I woke up this morning with a stretch and a yawn. I looked up at the clock hanging on the wall. Its shape is square with a yellow border, and in the middle resembling an evil princess and her loyal servant twin brother. The clock read 12:30 pm. Well, I beat yesterday by fifteen minutes.
Back to reality, I looked over at Rin. The scar on her face still heavily walked across it, but at least it looked as if had healed at least a little. I got up, slipped on my slippers, and walked to the kitchen to make breakfast (or as Rin says, Breakoo!). I decided to make tuna fish, fried eggs, and toast.
Just when I finished spicing the toast with cinnamon and sugar, Rin walked in. "Have a nice sleep, sleepyhead?" I smiled at her, and she smiled back. Luckily, she'd already changed, so I wouldn't have to see her all bloody and all. She was wearing a black tank top, and a gray puffed out skirt with a black waistband and sparkles. Followed with black boots, black hoop earrings, and her signature white ribbon.
She giggled and nodded as she sat down at the two-person table with hearts carved into the back of the chairs. I gave her a plate with a piece of toast cut in half, a few large slices of tuna, and a fried egg in a bowl. "I'll be back, Rin," I said as I headed towards our room.
I went in our closet (which does not hold our underwear, that's in separate drawers) and pulled out a white button-up blouse (girly, I know), then I grabbed a pair of black shorts. I took off the sleeveless orange hoodie I was wearing last night and realized one shoulder was stained in blood. Then I took off the blue jean shorts I was wearing last night (and you better not be doing all that girly giggling and stuff).
I slipped on my new pair of shorts, and shirt (not gonna call it a blouse) then, looked at myself in the mirror. My blue eyes looked right back at me. I noticed my hair was still down. Rin and I both have blond shoulder length hair, because I never bothered to cut it. So, I just keep mine up in a ponytail at the top of my head to make me look at least a little like a boy.
When I walked back into the kitchen, Rin saw what I was wearing and she frowned. And I can totally tell you why.
Flashback
"Paint it all over in black-"Kaito Shion, Gakupo Kamuii, and I had just finished singing Imitation Black. "Finally! That songs too short." I had exclaimed. Kaito snorted, and Gakupo laughed out loud. "We could add a little," Gakupo started. "After we play a little." An evil smirk had appeared on his face. My eyes widened, but my mouth could only state, "Huh?"
They neared me. Kaito and Gakupo were three years older than me at the time, so what the crap was I supposed to do? They started punching me and kicking me. The white short sleeved blouse didn't give me much protection, nor did the back shorts, from the cuts they were making on my arms and legs.
Then, when I thought I was about to die from all the blood loss, the door opened. And standing there none other was Rin. "Rin?" I meant to yell it but I couldn't. Gakupo just shrugged, she couldn't do anything. Kaito neared her, so they could hurt her too. But that did it. "Don't-touch-HER!" I yelled.
I broke away from Gakupo and ran and punched Kaito directly in the nose. I grabbed Rin by the hand and ran towards the front door with my best friend, Miku Hatsune (Kaito's stepsister) waving to me. "Bye, Len!" she yelled. "See ya, Miku!"
Flashback Over
Ever since then, Rin has hated this outfit. "I guess I could change if you really want me to." I said as I sat down with my plate. She just shook her head no, and looked down at her empty plate. I put two pieces of tuna and a half piece of toast from my plate to hers. She looked at me and gave me the prettiest smile you could imagine. "Thak-oo, Onii-san!" (It means Thank you, Onii-san.)
"No prob, now eat. It's Sunday, we've gotta go to the grocery store." She nodded and started stabbing away with her chopsticks. She doesn't really know how to use chopsticks, since she has that little, er, large problem. I finished way before she was even half done. I really feel bad for Rin. She can't even use chopsticks.
I got up and put my plate in the sink and walked back over to where Rin was sitting. I bent down a little and kissed her on the forehead. She loves when I do that. Probably since she misses getting loved on by mama. "Onii-san, I miss mama." She said sniffing. I really hope she isn't crying. "I know. I do to Rinny." I ruffled her hair. I thought it was funny to do, but she, however, hates it.
"Onii-san!" She yelled, like always I laughed and replied, "I'll be right back." She nodded as I walked off to our bedroom. I grabbed the jar, behind a wooden chair in our bedroom, filled with yen (Japanese money), I had earned at my job at Kingdom Hearts (a cosplay café).
